BADGER'S
GOLF - AGUILON 25/3/09
Wow - the mosquitos! No not the ones for dropping bombs
on last week's buggy-fuhrers, these were real! Millions
of the little blighters - each about the size of a daddy-longlegs
with biceps. Old Badger's members who now play regularly
at Aguilon, resplendent in long trousers, smiled knowingly
at the sacrificial flesh on display as our lot rolled up
in shorts, and muttered disturbingly about how polo shirts
offered no protection. But Derek Stephenson was kind enough
to play the role of the Public Health officials who walk
down the plane spraying passengers as they arrive in Australia
or New Zealand, making sure everyone got a good coating
of repellant. The poor turnout this week was probably fuelled
by the knowledge that this is a difficult course for the
high handicapper to score well.
RESULTS
1st: Colm O'Keefe making good use of his knowlwdge of the
course with 35 points
2nd: Roger Jenkins a fine 35 points also but losing on countback
3rd: Pat Sayer 33 points
The 17th green remained unsullied in the nearest the pin
competition, and Roger Jenkins made the only 2 of the day.
