The village is defined by various small hamlets which are scattered across the valley and offers a doctor’s surgery, local school, a municipal swimming pool with bar open in the summer months, two other bars and a shop stocking various English staples.

Freshly baked bread and pastries are delivered daily to the village as well as locally caught fish and shellfish.
The locality is renowned for its fossilized coral reef which is part of the mountain range and various finds are on display in the geology museum located next to the village church.
There are also a selection of walks with marked out routes enabling you to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area whilst taking in the local flora and fauna.
